A cool feature that came to iOS5 was the addition of custom vibration patterns. This is a very unknown feature, which is pretty cool.
To enable this feature, go to Settings. > General > Accesibility and turn on 'Custom Vibrations'
Then, go into sound and scroll to the very bottom. There is the option 'Vibration Patterns' There are 5 standard settings, along with a neat little custom pattern setting. This allows you to make your own alert patterns, for notifications.
Another cool addition is LED alerts. Every time you recieve an alert, the flash on your phone lights up (Note: This is only for iPhone 4 + 4S). Again, Settings > General > Acessability and turn 'LED Flash for Alerts' On.
These features are really cool, and are nifty little tools for your device.
